Cafe Brucke

The café-restaurant-bar, Café Brucke opened in June 2004. It is inspired by similar establishments the owners visited in Brugge, Belgium in the summer of 1999. Brucke aims to provide enjoyment and pleasure via top quality beverage and food service in a relaxing and conversational environment.

The name “Brucke” was selected by owner/spouses Christine “Lovie” Lorch & Jerry “Buckets” Patzwald as an homage to the core group of German Expressionist artists of the same name. As Expressionism “bridged” art eras, it is hoped that Café Brucke will be a bridge for Milwaukeeans from “all walks of life” who desire a creative, comfortable & conversational environment.

Christine Lorch is a Milwaukee-born food stylist & BFA graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Jerry Patzwald is a native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin & BBA graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He also is employed by an importer of European beverages and has over 30 years of adult experience in all facets of the fermented beverage industry.
